Sliders Inkworks Cards
Sliders Inkworks Cards
Trading cards were massively popular in the 90s—so much so that Inkworks thought it would be a good idea to license Sliders and create a series (mostly) based on the first two seasons of the show. Are they any good? We like to think the fact that you can still buy factory-sealed boxes of packs off eBay speaks volumes to their overall popularity.
As you can see from the promotional advertisement, each complete deck consists of 72 base cards, with nine “special” cards from season 3, six foilwork Kromagg cards, and two lenticular cards packed into each box as rare finds. The base deck does include exclusives like Alternate Worlds artwork based on parallel worlds visited in the show and Sliders comics cover art for every issue save “Deadly Secrets.” The rest of the set includes production stills from various episodes, and while many of the photos don’t correspond with the episode they reference on the back, there are some cool shots you likely won’t find elsewhere, particularly the ones of the Kromaggs from “Invasion.”
If you’re interested in picking up a box for yourself, here’s what Inkworks guarantees:
- At least one complete set (#1-72) of collector cards can be found in each sealed display box out of 36 count trading card product (we made three from ours).
- All cards, including any randomly packed bonus cards, will be found defect-free or we will replace while supplies last.
- Odds of finding special embossed cards: approximately 1:11 packs (we got three).
- Odds of foilwork cards: approximately 1:17 (we got two).
- Odds of Lenticularworks™ cards: approximately 1:35 (we got one).
If you have any questions, you may try your luck by emailing Inkworks at their AOL account! The ad intimates this collection was the first in a series; sadly, no additional cards followed.
If you want to see the full collection of cards, the Slidecage has them up on their site.
